About Our Organization:

Established in 1994, East Bay Innovations (EBI) is a nonprofit human services organization that supports people with developmental disabilities, such as intellectual disabilities, autism, and cerebral palsy. Our person-centered services support people to live in their own homes, make choices about how they live, work in jobs of their choosing, and enjoy being part of their communities. We seek to further the human rights and empowerment of people with disabilities, and hire people who care about social justice and want to make a difference in the lives of others.
 

About the Position:

Our Community Day Support (CDS) program offers one-on-one support to adults with developmental disabilities. CDS clients participate in a lot of fun activities throughout the community. Swimming, ice skating, bicycling, art, music, dance and cooking are just some of the great things you and your clients will get to do together. CDS is currently seeking to help support clients out in the community to have fun and enjoy all that their community has to offer!

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years experience in service provision to individuals with disabilities. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services.

Work Schedule:

  • Full time, hybrid eligible. 
  • Availability: Monday-Friday: 7:00AM-6:00PM.

Work Locations: 

  • Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, Hayward, Castro Valley, San Leandro, and other locations in Alameda County. 
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license, a driving record that meets agency standards, auto insurance, and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing consumer day program activities.
  • Working with consumers to develop and document ISP goals.
  • Carrying the CDS emergency cell phone and covering direct service vacancies.
  • Hiring and supervising direct support staff, train new direct service staff as assigned.
  • Performing administrative duties and documentation.
  • Provide administrative support as needed to include, but not limited to: developing and implementing Day Program activities for consumers, filing of documents, and documenting trends. 
  • Personal and intimate care (toileting).
  • Wheelchair lifts and transfers.
  • Work effectively with other EBI staff, representatives from other agencies and members from the community.  
  • Work effectively with significant persons in each consumer’s life (i.e., family members, friends, significant others).
  • Provide on-call support and fill shifts as needed.

Compensation: $32.15 per hour.

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness program is a federal program that forgives student loan debt for nonprofit employees after 120 qualifying payments. Employees who work at least 30 hours per week for a governmental, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, or other qualifying nonprofit organization may apply to have the balance of their student loans forgiven (tax free) after making 120 monthly payments.
