About the Position:
The Peer Community Educator (Bilingual) would support our Service Access and Equity program: working with Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Spanish-speaking intellectual/development disability (I/DD) community members while receiving a stipend to cover associated projects. This is a temporary stipend position which could last up to 14 months. There is an estimated 10 hours per month during the contract term.

This is a temporary stipend position which could last up to 14 months. There is an estimated 10 hours per month during the contract term.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- One year of experience working in the field of human services preferred.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish required.
- Working approximately 10 hours per month (flexible schedule).
- Requires traveling throughout Alameda County.
- This position would receive a stipend for each activity completed.
- $3366.67 in total stipends are available, if all of the activities are completed.
- Facilitate, promote, and support events to connect individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families with resources.
- Work effectively with significant persons in each consumer’s life i.e., family members, friends, significant others. Work effectively with other EBI staff, representatives from other agencies and members from the community.
- Maintain a consistent positive attitude when working with each consumer and in representing the agency in the community effectively.
- Participate in staff meetings and staff trainings as assigned.
- Provide administrative support as needed to include but not limited to: distributing flyers, tracking engagement with event attendees and prospective clients., etc. as needed.
- Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned.
