About the Position:
The Outreach Educator would support our Service Access and Equity program: conducting community engagement, supporting events, and collaborating with a team of community liaisons to facilitate outreach.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- One year of experience working in the field of human services is preferred.
- An understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of inclusion, normalization and consumer driven services.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Spanish with a preference for working proficiency in English.
Compensation: $27.54 per hour.
Schedule:
Schedule:
- 16 hours per week: Start date through December 2025.
- 20 hours per week: January 2026 through December 2026.
Locations:
- Requires traveling throughout Alameda County.
- Possession of valid California driver’s license and a driving record that meets agency standards, auto insurance, and access to a vehicle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct outreach to engage community members with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner (Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or Spanish).
- Facilitate, promote, and support events to connect individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families with resources.
- Develop Individualized Action Plans (IAP’s) to support community members in connecting with and using Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) and other services in Alameda County for affordable housing.
- Work effectively with significant persons in each consumer’s life, such as family members, friends, and significant others. Work effectively with other EBI staff, representatives from other agencies and members from the community.
- Maintains a consistent positive attitude when working with each consumer and in representing the agency in the community effectively.
- Participate in staff meetings and staff trainings as assigned.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including—but not limited to—distributing flyers, tracking engagement with event attendees and prospective clients, etc.
- Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned.

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness program is a federal program that forgives student loan debt for nonprofit employees after 120 qualifying payments. Employees who work at least 30 hours per week for a governmental, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, or other qualifying nonprofit organization may apply to have the balance of their student loans forgiven (tax free) after making 120 monthly payments.
